London - Day 1

Jet does funny things.  First was that I couldn't figure out how to turn on the lights at the desk in the hotel room.  (I'd figured out that we have to put the room key in the slot by the door to get the regular lights to work)  Turns out there was a switch on the cord.  Took a good friend, through Facebook, to help my addled brain figure that out.

So, not much of an update tonight. Because I can't get gmail to connect on my phone.  Not a huge deal, but I have a few photos on my phone that I'd like to get to, but my phone is being schitzo (seriously, popping between multiple sign in type screens and error screens without me touching it.  I've rebooted.  The phone....  Next I'll reboot myself with a good night's rest.

In the mean time, here are a few photos from Day 1

Tower Hotel Executive Lounge - free drinks!  :-)

Our new favorite pub - just across the bridge from our hotel

In the Anchor Tap - enjoying some pints

On our way back from the Anchor Tap across the Tower Bridge to the Tower Hotel

On Tower Bridge

Our hotel - our room is on the left side, 5th floor, Greg and Yolanda's is on the part pointing towards the river

View from our room (that's the Shard in the background - I hear it's the tallest building in EU

View from our room just before I head to sleep!

  1. Looks like a good time is being had by all!

  2. I hope the jetlag wears off soon so you can really enjoy London. Wow, I'm so jealous..I want a pint or two! The view of Tower Bridge from your room is just incredible at night!! If you go and check out the Shard, try and do the London Dungeons (all I can say is I'm glad we don't live in Victorian times!).
