Since we were already receiving premiums for the Red Bluff and Santa Barbara shows that are scheduled for May we were talking about which of those could take the Rancho Murieta show's place.
However, we finally I received a response to one of my emails with a link to the 2014 premium (the listing of classes, costs, entry form, etc). Yay. We were literally just going to give it a couple more days before changing our plans. So the good news is that the show is on. Now I can show locally. I really didn't want to try to talk to my boss to get different days off, and I didn't really want to drive to Red Bluff or Santa Barbara (much as I love showing in Santa Barbara). Though I'd heard the Red Bluff show is being held at a casino so that did sound interesting. But showing in Rancho Murieta means that Ken will be able to be there. And that's very important!
And to change it up for 2014 we'll be showing Hunter Pleasure! Yep! I'm excited, and nervous. Not that I was becoming a pro in Western Pleasure, but it's been more than 10 years since I've shown Hunter Pleasure...I might have to scan some of my old show photos with Cre and relive memories....though I'm not sure I really want to know exactly HOW long ago that was!!!
I don't have many photos of me riding English, but here's one from a couple months ago
Now I have to get off my butt and:
Go through my show clothes (at least I know I can manage since I wore some in the schooling show last April)
Go through all my show equipment and make sure the grooming stuff is ready to go
Go through my tack and make sure I have everything I need to show - I can't use training gear - or that I can borrow what I'm missing
Review my show checklists and see what I need to bring back to life related to Hunter Pleasure
Make sure my competition cards are valid. I renewed both my USEF and AHA competition cards but I never received the AHA card.....
Yikes....my list is growing faster than I can write it down!
Guess I better get cracking!
